Senator Kabiru Gaya has revealed that the number of aspirants has been trimmed to only Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Bola Tinubu.
He made the revelation in an interview with Channels TV. Watch below:
Also, at least five delegates from both states told The Gazette in separate interviews Tuesday that they were offered American banknotes to support Mr Tinubu and the vice president.
To avoid being accused of anti-party behavior, which may result in harsh disciplinary penalties, the delegate gave information under the pseudonym.
Mr Tinubu allegedly paid Ogun delegates $25,000 each to persuade them to accept his nomination as the party’s presidential flag-bearer tonight, while Adamawa delegates said they received $10,000 each from Mr Tinubu’s proxies. The delegates began converting on Abuja last week, ahead of the primary, which is set for June 6-8.
Delegates from Ogun confirmed getting $25,000 from the former Lagos governor. They, however, said they rejected $5,000 from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s surrogates.
