The wide variety of digital resources now available from Discovery Education are specifically designed to integrate easily into educator’s and school system’s existing Earth Day and sustainability education efforts. Growing a Forest with Vooks Teach students the importance of conservation with award-winning author Sophia Gholz. Explore her experience writing The Boy Who Grew a Forest, the true story behind it, and how she hopes this story will inspire children everywhere to make a difference.

STEM Student Leaders Get inspired to change the world. Meet Moitri Santra, Aadrit Talukdar, and Viraj Pandey, 2021 finalists of the 3M Young Scientist Challenge, the nation’s premier middle school science competition, as they share thoughtful solutions to solve environmental issues. The annual challenge and part of the Young Scientist Lab program invite students grades 5-8 to compete for an exclusive mentorship with a 3M scientist, a $25,000 grand prize, and the title of “America’s Top Young Scientist.”
STEM ActivitiesDesigned for students in grades K-12, these activities from Siemens STEM Day – an educational initiative with The Siemens Foundation – bring science, technology, engineering, and math to life inside and outside the classroom. A new selection of 10 activities empowers students to discover key STEM topics like manufacturing, energy, and information technology and how they impact the planet.
Virtual Field Trip In the Internet of Things Virtual Field Trip, students discover how the internet they use in their everyday lives can connect their cities and communities to conserve natural resources, protect ecosystems, and create safer, more sustainable communities of the future. Sustainability Leaders In Celebration of Earth Day, the STEM Careers Coalition™ – the first-of-its-kind national STEM initiative powered by corporate and non-profit leaders and anchored in schools by Discovery Education – presents a curated collection of sustainability-focused professionals in STEM. Introduce students to STEM with over 200 resources designed to uncover students’ STEM skills to activate future solution seekers. The exciting content includes resources ranging from hands-on student activations and lessons to the extensive database of career profiles and family activities.
