The International Association of Language Centres and the Thai International Education Consultants Association have signed an agreement to “foster opportunities” for member schools and agencies across Thailand.
The memorandum of understanding will allow IALC to continue the expansion of strategic partnerships in Asian markets, according to IALC president and principal of CES Toronto, Robin Adams.
“We feel this partnership will foster opportunities for our member schools seeking to forge meaningful agreements with prestigious agencies in Thailand,” he said.
“In the wake of the pandemic, the Thai market has increased significance for Australian schools and we will work closely with our colleagues at TIECA to explore roadshows and other events to try and build on the opportunities for a wide variety of IALC destinations.”
ELICOS analysis by English Australia found that, in the year up to June 2022, Thailand continued to be ranked first in overall student commencements. Australia experienced YTD growth of 556.4% from Thailand, it added.
IALC welcomed four members in 2021, bringing membership up to 139 year-round schools and summer centres. TIECA currently has 78 members working in the education industry in Thailand.
“TIECA has the mission to be the media to help the institutions to understand about Thai markets and also to promote the institutions to our TIECA members to work with the accredited institutions,” said TIECA president and MD of GENT Edutainment Seth Rutrakool.
“Collaborating with IALC will fully support this mission and we hope that IALC and TIECA will work closely together in the future.”
