WAEC Subject Combination for Petroleum Engineering
If you want to study Petroleum Engineering in any higher institution in Nigeria, you must ensure you have not less than five (5) credit passes in the required subjects. The Subject Combination for Petroleum Engineering can also be applied to NECO, GCE and WAEC. Below is WAEC Subject Combination for Petroleum Engineering:
1). Physics.
2). Chemistry.
3). Use of English Language.
4). Mathematics.
5). And any one Science subject.
WAIVER / SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
IBADAN and FUTO – Same as in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.
NDU requires 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and any other subject in not more than 2 sittings.
NTNU – Same as in Computer Engineering.
UNIBEN – Same as in Chemical Engineering.
UNILAG and OSUSTECH require an ‘O’ level credit pass in Further Maths.
Direct Entry Requirement for Petroleum Engineering
If you don’t want to apply for admission using UTME or its equivalent, then you must have to satisfy the Direct Entry Requirement for Petroleum Engineering listed below:
- ‘A’ level passes to include Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
WAIVER / SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
ABUAD, OSUSTECH, UNIBEN, FUTO – As in Chemical Engineering.
BAUCHI accepts ND/HND in related Engineering programmes in addition to UTME requirements.
FUTO requires at least 3 ‘A’ level passes which will not be below C in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Requires ND/HND upper credit in Engineering plus UTME requirements. They don’t accept NCE or first degree.
IGBINEDION accepts 2 ‘A’ level passes in the following Physics in addition to one (1) of Chemistry and Mathematics. They also accept ND in Engineering related programmes.
NTNU – Same as in Computer Engineering.
RSUST – Same as in Computer Engineering
UNIPORT – They don’t offer direct entry for this course.
UNILAG – The same as in Chemical Engineering.
UI and NDU – As in Agricultural Engineering.
UNIUYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes in addition to UTME requirements.
