The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SSG), Folashade Ayoade, has assumed duty as a part-time lecturer at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.
Ms Ayoade took up the job at the university with a promise of impacting knowledge on youths and also serving as inspiration to them.
Ms Ayoade expressed determination to spare time out of her tight schedule to contribute to the development of the education sector in Kogi.
She assumed duty on Thursday and began her lecture in Biochemistry by 10:00 a.m. at Lecture Room 4.
Ms Ayoade encouraged the female students on the need to be serious with their academic work. She used herself as an example to imitate.
The SSG, therefore, encouraged the students to work harder as nothing could stop them from reaching the peak of their academic pursuit if they remained steadfast.
She explained that her intention was to be part of the solution to the learning crisis in the education sector.
The SSG was a deputy director in the Chemical Evaluation and Research Directorate of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) before her appointment by Governor Yahaya Bello in 2016.
Ms Ayoade holds a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin, master’s degree from the University of Lagos and a doctorate in Biochemistry from University of Ilorin.
