The Federal Ministry of Education has announced Miss Adeola Adefemi, an English Teacher with the Oke-Odo Senior High School, Alimosho in Lagos State as the Best Teacher in Nigeria at a national event held recently in Abuja to commemorate the annual World Teachers’ Day.
Presenting the Award to Adefemi, Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo said the event was designed to appreciate outstanding teachers for their immeasurable contributions to the growth and development of society.
Adefemi, who was rewarded with a brand-new car by the Federal Government, has an uncommon passion for promoting qualitative education. She is also regarded as a highly innovative teacher who trains children in and out of school, especially the underprivileged in her community.
Mrs. Bolanle Alamu of the Government Senior College, Agege, also emerged as the Y2022 Second Runner-up for Best School Administrator in the Public School Category. Mrs. Alamu had earlier won the 2021 Senior Secondary School Administrator Award during the Lagos State Teachers’ Merit Award held in June, 2022.
Another Lagos Teacher, Mr. Michael Adeniyi of the Caleb British International School also emerged as the first runner-up in the Best Teacher, Private Senior Secondary School Category for Y2022.
