The Nigeria Police Special Constabulary personnel have hit the streets of Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Wednesday, to protest the non-payment of their salaries.
The protesting constabularies said the management of the Nigeria Police Force owes them 18 months pay.
The police constabularies assembled at the famous Oke-Fia roundabout and moved through Alekuwodo to Olaiya junction to register their displeasure over the owed allowances.
The protesters, dressed in police uniforms and armed with placards bearing different inscriptions, also revealed that they had lost four of their men to robbery attacks in banks in Ikire and Irabiji in one year.
Olawale Olokode, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, tried in vain to calm the protesters and promised to address journalists later in the day.
