Consumer Protection Association (CPA) has confirmed that the schools do not have the right to force parents and restrict their purchase of students’ official uniforms from a specific store,
The CPA’s confirmation came in conjunction with the approach of the new school year, as some schools are forcing parents to buy school uniforms from a specific store.
It indicated that the school has the right only to provide the parents with the design and color of the school uniform for each stage, stressing that parents have the right and choice to purchase the uniform from any store that suits them.
CPA also said that it had monitored a parent’s complaint against a school, which was forcing students’ parents to buy school uniforms at a specific store and at a high cost.
The association called on students’ parents, if they notice any of these or other practices by schools, to file a complaint through the Consumer Service Centre
