UNILAG Entrepreneurship Contest to Close on 4th August

University of Lagos Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Center is accepting entries from suitably qualified students for the 2021 Business Innovation and Talent expression (BITE). The contest closes by 11:59pm on Wednesday, 4th August, 2021.

The contest is in furtherance of the university’s goal of instilling the spirit and zeal of entrepreneurship in 21st century students of higher learning.

University of Lagos Business Innovation & Talent Expression (UNILAG-BITE) has been carefully put together in order to drive the vision of creating at least 5,000 Studentpreneurs and future giant captains of industry by the year 2025.

It is proudly initiated by the Entrepreneurship & Skills Development Centre (ESDC)-UNILAG to support and brew young Nigerians who are innovative and willing to change the narrative, create jobs, and better the economy of Nigeria.

The contest is open to all students of University of Lagos, either full-time Undergraduates, students of Distance Learning Institute or Institute of Continuous Education, and students pursuing Post Graduates Diploma, Masters, MPhil or Phd.

First Prize Winner will receive 2 million naira, Second Prize Winner will receive 1.2 million naira and Third Prize Winner will receive 750 thousand naira.

Many opportunities involved in the contest include over 200 innovative business ideas or start-ups receiving:

1. Free registration and incorporation of successful businesses.

2. Free patenting, Trade-name and Trade-mark protection (Holistic IP protection).

3. Up to 2 million naira zero interest loan (Seed fund from BOI).

4. Free mentorship and support for successful startups.

5. Free Admission into the BOI-UNILAG.

Announcement of Successful Applicants comes up by Friday, 6th August, 2021.

Compulsory 1-Day Preparatory Training (Business Model Canvas Training) follows by Monday, 9th August, 2021.

First Level Pitching Competition takes place between Thursday, 12th and Saturday, 14th August, 2021.

Grand Finale Pitching Competition holds on Friday, 20th August, 2021.
