The distribution of fake Covid-19 Antigen quick test kits has alarmed the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
In a NAFDAC public alert distributed to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja, the anti-drug agency sounded the alarm.
The agency claims that Health Canada informed NAFDAC about the fake BTNX Incorporated COVID-19 fast antigen test kits. Health Canada was stated by NAFDAC as saying that the phoney test kits were distributed online by a company called Healthful Plus in 25-pack cartons without the necessary authorization.
NAFDAC said the packaging of the counterfeit kits resembles the authentic BTNX Inc. products in colour and typeface and uses the BTNX Incorporated. It said that the device identifier has “COV-19C25â€
