The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, (TESCOM) has sworn in Mrs. Olubusola Ajibola Abidakun as Permanent Secretary.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by its Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Kayode Sutton, on Tuesday September 13, 2022.
While calling for the collaboration of Officers in the commission to further move the state forward, Abidakun stated that cooperation and mutual relationship among members of staff is germane to the success of the commission.
Speaking during her inaugural meeting with Heads of Departments and Units of the Commission, the Permanent Secretary noted that working efficiently and effectively is sacrosanct and the only way to achieve greatness, both individually and collectively.
She emphasized the need to be well organized in the discharge of official assignments, stressing that these would help in ensuring that much is achieved within the ambit of official work hours thereby avoiding working late, especially at this time of insecurity situation in the country.
“We do not need Officers who work hard, but smart. We need to be objective and result oriented. We should be the business partners of the Lagos State Government by ensuring that there is an alignment between our personal goals and the organisational goals.
“This is the only way we can be part of the vision of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in moving the Education Sector and Lagos State to lofty heights in line with the THEMES Agenda,” she enthused.
Welcoming the Permanent Secretary, the Chairman of the Commission, Mrs. Elizabeth Olabisi Ariyo, noted that Mrs. Abidakun has been part of the success story recorded thus far in TESCOM before she was deployed to the Ministry of Health. She expressed her felicity at the appointment of the new Permanent Secretary and enjoined her as the Chief Accounting Officer, to put her best in further taking the Commission to greater heights.
“Here in TESCOM, we do not rely on anything but ourselves. We are out to work without fear or favour. Our main focus here is service and you were hitherto part of the service delivery system.”
Mrs. Olubusola Ajibola Abidakun, who was received amidst cheers and jubilation by the entire Commission Members, was one time the Director of ICT, and later, Director, Secretariat in the Teaching Service Commission before she was deployed to the Ministry of Health as the Director, Administration and Human Resources, from where she was appointed as Permanent Secretary of the Commission by Mr. Governor, Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Friday 9th of September, 2022.
