The National Association of Nigerian Students on Wednesday decided to suspend its planned nationwide protests.
This was after the Academic Staff Union of Universities were earlier in the day ordered by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria to resume academic activities.
NANS had previously instructed all of its zones, from Zone A to Zone F, to carry out protests sequentially from September to October 11 in a circular signed by its President-Elect, Usman Barambu.
However, Barambu, in another statement released on Wednesday, directed the structures to stand down all protests, appealing to ASUU to resume work as ordered by the court, saying it “is a progressive way forward.â€
