Students from the University of Lagos have protested the three-month extension announced by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Following the directive from the Students Union Governing (SUG), students took to the environs of their university to protest against the strike action.
According to the announcement on Monday May 9, 2022, the current strike embarked upon by ASUU will last till the 1st of August, 2022 if there is resolution.

The National Executive Council, the Chairman of the union, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, stated that the strike has been extended till August 1st, 2022 after the period of the warning strike ended last Friday.
The heavy presence of the DSS operatives, Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC stationed at gate of the school did not deter the students who peacefully protested against the current strike that is now being extended for another three (3) months.
Edugist had earlier reported that reported a plan by the students to protest the continuous strike.
