The Department of State Services (DSS) has said that it will look into claims of improper behaviour by its agents at Lagos State’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).
Pelumi Olajengbesi, a human rights attorney based in Abuja, had claimed that agents of the agency beg for money from airport travellers, which prompted the investigation.
He wrote on Facebook;
“It is actually an embarrassment to the entire nation to have DSS officers vetting people coming into the country at the Lagos airport begging for money.
“One can forgive Immigration and Custom officers because this is simply customary but that a very important agency like the DSS is shocking.â€
