Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon and a well-known millionaire, and Lauren Sanchez, his longtime companion, have gotten engaged.
The 53-year-old woman who is Bezos’ girlfriend has been spotted wearing a sizable diamond ring earlier this week, sparking speculation over whether it is an engagement ring or just another present from the billionaire.
The “absolute monster” ring, according to Ajay Anand of Rare Carat, weighs 20 carats and costs about 2.5 million dollars.
Following their weekend surprise trip to Cannes on their $500 million superyacht, Jeff Bezos, 59, and Lauren Sanchez, 53, are present in the south of France for the Cannes Film Festival.
Their accommodation has been pretty spectacular, as they have been staying on Bezos’ 500 million dollar yacht, which has a mermaid on the prow which resembles Sanchez.
Sanchez is the founder of Black Ops Aviation and a former TV journalist. She previously wed Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell, with whom she had a son and a daughter.

Since 2018, the two have been dating. Until later in 2019 while they awaited the finalization of Bezos’ divorce from MacKenzie Scott, little was known or made public about their connection. They had been wed for a staggering 25 years.
On the other hand, Bezos and his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, to whom he was married for 25 years, have four children together: a girl and three sons.
When the moment is right, Sanchez has expressed a desire to follow in Jeff Bezos’ footsteps and travel to space.
