One person was killed while a businessman and his son were kidnapped when abductors numbering about ten invaded a mosque in Jalingo, Taraba State capital on Thursday.
A source told NAIJALOADED that the incident occurred at Jalo Junction in Saminaka area of Jalingo metropolis during maghrib prayers.
The source further explained that the son of the businessman is said to be a secondary school student.
He said,
“The kidnappers have reportedly killed several persons, including a policeman and abducted more than 30 people in the area in a few months.”
He stated that the kidnappers have forced many residents to relocate from the area, saying that they operate from mountains across river Lamurde in Ardo Kola local Government Area.
DSP Usman Abdullahi, the spokesman of the Taraba State Police Command could not be reached for comment on the incident.
