Victor Osimhen equaled the Serie A goals record held by the trio of George Weah, Samuel Eto’o and Mohamed Salah after netting a brace in Napoli’s 2-1 comeback win against Udinese on Saturday.
Going into the game against Udinese, Osimhen had nine goals and his first goal, which was the equalizer against Udinese, took him to 10 goals.
His 10th league goal made him the first Nigerian in history to reach double figures for two different seasons in Serie A (He scored 10 last season).
Also, he is now the fourth African player to hit double figures in two different Serie A seasons after Weah, Eto’o and Salah.
He went on to grab the winner which means he now has 11 goals in the Italian topflight this term.
Saturday’s win saw Napoli on 63 points level on points with AC Milan at the top.
