Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State command has explained the Reason for establishing all-women squad for schools in the state.
This was explained in a statement on Thursday May 19, 2022, by Squad Commander, NSCDC women special squad in Osun command, Deputy Superintendent of Corps, Ayodele Adepoju.
NSCDC said the choice of women for a special squad for protection of public schools is due to inherent passion of women for the protection of children.
Adepoju stated that the squad was ready to ensure that schools in the state were safe for learning.
“We are ready to display a high level of professionalism because to whom much is given, much is expected.
“Choice of female personnel for this assignment is borne out of the fact that the gender naturally has passion for the protection of children,” she said.
The commander called on members of the public to collaborate with the squad by giving actionable intelligence and logistical support that would ensure safety in all public schools across the state.
