The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino as Chairman, Lagos State Teaching Service Commission.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, on Wednesday January 25, 2023.
According to the statement, the appointment is effective from February 1, 2023, following the end of the meritorious tenure of the erstwhile Chairman, Mrs. Elizabeth Ariyo, who is expected to leave office at the end of January 2023.
The statement unveiled that before her present appointment, Mrs. Peregrino was a member of the Governing Council of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), a position she has held since August 2020.
Muri-Okunola said, “Her sterling career as an astute Education Administrator across various Directorates in the defunct PP-TESCOM and, later, an outstanding record of service as a School Principal, earned her recognition and subsequent appointment as a Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary District I in the State Public Service, before her statutory retirement from the Teaching Service.”
Expressing optimism in the new chairman’s knowledge, experience and capacity, the Head of Service congratulated and urged her to justify Mr. Governor’s confidence in approving her appointment without reservations.
