Authorities of the Kaduna State University, on Friday, insisted that academic activities will resume on May 9, 2022.
DAILY POST recalls that the management of the institution, on April 27, 2022, ordered the students and the academic staff members to resume full academic activities on May 9, 2022.
However, this did not go down well with the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), who are on a nationwide strike.
In a statement issued on May 3, 2022, jointly signed by the ASUU Chairman and the Assistant Secretary, Kaduna State University branch, Dr Peter Adamu, and Dr Akos Ibrahim, respectively, the union dissociated itself from the circular released by the university authority.
However, the management of the institution issued another statement through the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Adamu Nuhu Bargo,
dated May 6, 2022, reaffirming that academic activities would resume on Monday in line with its academic calendar.
The students were advised to ensure they report to the University as directed by the management.
Bargo warned that the institution would not entertain any threat by anyone in respect of the resumption date.
He said that if there is any contrary development, the University would inform the general public.
