The alumni of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has donated e-teaching gadgets to the Faculty of Law.
The newly installed facilities included two e-learning interactive boards, four audio speakers, computer systems and library furniture.
The gadgets were inspected by the university management, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.
During the inspection tour, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof Ige Bolodeoku demonstrated the use of the new gadgets.
He stated that the large, state-of-the-art interactive boards could be used independently to perform tasks and operations of any kind, especially, in the teaching of visual subjects.
He said, “We are committed to ensuring that our lecture delivery changes with these new items. We believe that the gadgets will assist us to deliver on our role as lecturers because it has the capacity for integration of educational tools, such as videos, images, and diagrams. It can also be used to make quick searches on statutes and laws of different countries.”
Bolodeoku disclosed that the 1988 Law alumni set had donated a new library with 31 new systems to the faculty.
He said the soon-to-be commissioned library would promote the e-learning agenda of the faculty.
Prof Ogundipe applauded the faculty for being a trailblazer and demonstrating that the development of students is a top priority at the institution.
While describing the achievements recorded by Bolodeoku as unprecedented, the vice chancellor expressed gratitude to the ’98 alumni set for the gesture towards their alma-mater.
He noted that the move was part of the milestones recorded under the University’s P3P initiative, “Pick a Project; Pick a Programme and Pick a Person”.
